Against all odds, it feels like the 1980s in 2026. KCS 2022, which has been a staple of Minnesota locals for about 2 years now, somehow escaped out of Humboldt Yard in Minneapolis and was placed on point of CPKC train 646, bound for the CSX and beyond in Chicago, thundering around the slight curve in Deerfield at 15 mph due to a malfunctioning crossing at the Deerfield station. It has a cut of manifest at the front that will be taken off at Bensenville Yard. KCS 2022 is ex Milwaukee Road 354, which means that for the first time in many, many years, she is back in home territory leading a train again. Welcome home!
