What a catch! Amtrak 130 and Amtrak 160, the Phase II and Phase IV, respectively units lead Amtrak 5, the westbound California Zephyr. This marks half of the Amtrak special wrapped or painted P42s down. Weve seen 174, the Mark B. Kenny unit, on which the decals had seen better days, and 203, the Operation Lifesaver wrapped P42. 130s bell was ringing rather quickly. Try finding that variety in an e-bell! And on the way up from Colorado Springs, we saw BNSF 1660 as well, a former BN Cascade Green still in BN paint. And in Colorado Springs, sitting at the Springs siding, there was a NB manifest with a transformer high and wide. So those were some fun little surprises!
