Amtrak 2, the eastbound Sunset Limited, is about 30 minutes late as it makes its way upgrade through Vail, AZ on Track 2 (the original Southern Pacific alignment, and the slow track to locals and railfans). Pairs of Phase 5 P42DCs are the usual, with the occasional heritage unit thrown in, like Amtrak 164 on this day.
