In April 2025, Canadian National completed its acquisition of Iowa Northern, and as a result, CN locomotives started moving onto IANR rails to run their locals. Now, for the first time, the reverse is true on CN locals.CNs Furball, known during the IC days as the Freeport to Burlington local, now as L56191 from Freeport to Genoa and back, is seen with IANR 4100 leading the way westbound back to Freeport, after completing work in Rockford for the day. Here, 4100 is seen crossing over a small trestle bridge near Levings Lake on the west side of Rockford.
