NS 8105, The “Interstate” Heritage Unit, leads NS train 345 south through Slidell, LA. About 5 miles ahead of them is the NS Lake Ponchartrain bridge which is a mighty 5.8 miles long. Once in New Orleans, this train will get onto UP rails and head to it’s final destination of Livonia, LA.
