The Spirit of Roanoke, a sleeping bullet-nosed black beauty, is currently resting at the Virginia Museum of Transportation after a few years away on the Strasburg Railroad! In my opinion, N&W No. 611 is one of the greatest steam locomotives ever built! It was so great to see this beautiful streamlined steamer again after two years! Note: the clouds overhead seem to be mimicking smoke from No. 611’s stack!
