On a dreary May 21, 2015, at 9:17am, the Charlotte Dispatcher gave clearance to NS 957 to head north to Greensboro. And for the first time in 21 years, N&W's legendary 4-8-4 J Class #611 rolled onto the NS Mainline under her own steam. She's seen here passing through Five Row on her first mainline test run to Pomona Yard with nine cars in tow, where she will turn around and return to Spencer. Truly a historic day for rail fans. Thank you to everyone who put the effort in to bringing this beauty back to life.
